NZH This kale is well known in Maori communities, especially around the East Cape. It has a more delicate leaf and mild flavour than other kales. Light green, mostly flat leaves with small crinkles around the edges and a white stem. Kales are great in salads when young, or stir-fries, quiches, soups or baked into kale chips when more mature.
Sow into trays in early Spring or late Summer for consistent supply. Prick out to 4cm diagonal spacing when true leaves appear. Transplant into fertile soil at 30cm diagonal spacing.
