Want to attend one of our workshops!? See below to book one in 2022-23. Please get in touch and we will plan a time and place for the workshop you would like hosted. Most workshops are hosted in our gardens, although sometimes we can travel and host a workshop in your area. 


Workshops we offer include, but are not limited to:

Seed Propagation –  Learn how to sow seeds, grow them to a healthy transplant stage and plant them in your garden. Biointensive and permaculture techniques covered. To insure a healthy garden it all starts at the moment the seed touches the soil. Length: Half Day


Getting Out of the Debt Trap: Budget Tiny House Construction –  Come and see an under 10 square metre tiny house being built for under $5000.  This project will be underway and we will share with you plans and design ideas for living small.  Practical building skills and ideas about getting your tiny house on a piece of land will be shared. Length: Full Day


Design Your Dream Garden –  Whether you are new to gardening or feeling like your garden could be more productive with a few tweaks, we will share permaculture design concepts and biointensive gardening techniques to help you design an easy care garden you will love. Bring your questions and issues to share as part of the design exercise. Length: Half Day


DIY Handyman Skills for the Self Sufficient Lifestyler –  Ever wanted to knowhow to build a trellis that won’t blow down? Learn basic carpentry skills and incorporate them into your garden.  We will show you how to design and build your own cold frame and simple garden cloche/glasshouse. All construction will be with simple materials. Length: Half Day


Growing a Healthy Garden with Natural Fertilisers –  Want to improve you plants health and vitality as a natural way to insure good harvest and less pressure from pest and disease. We will show you how we do this in our seed garden by sharing how we build a fertile compost heap, make compost teas, use cover crops to build soil fertility and apply foliar feeds to boost plant health. Length: Half Day


Seed Harvesting and Processing –  Discover the time tested techniques for harvesting and processing both wet (fruiting) and dry (flowering) seed. Wet fermentation, threshing, winnowing and seed dancing will be covered. Then see how best to store your seed for future seasons. Length: Full Day or 3 Day Intensive


Preserving the Harvest – Learn traditional ways to preserve your gardens bounty for the winter. Lactic Fermentation, bottling, freezing, drying and root cellaring methods will be covered. Length: Full Day
