Bean - Green - Mangere Pole

NZH Given to us by Annie Wilson of Miranda Organic Orchards as the best bean! A climbing pole bean (2.5M) with waxy and delicious tasting pods when green. An old variety from the market garden days of Mangere, before urban sprawl pushed growers further south to Pukekohe.

Sow in trays in glasshouse in September or direct in the garden when chance of frost has passed. From trays prick out when true leaves appear and transplant into fertile soil at 15-20cm spacing under a trellis for support. For autumn crop repeat sowing in January/February.
