Marigold - Naughty Marietta

NZH An outstanding companion for all vegetables especially tomatoes, peppers, eggplants and potatoes. A bush type marigold also known as French marigold with gorgeous orange and deep red single flowers. The scent from plant and root matter is said to deter several insect pests including whitefly and nematodes simultaneously accumulating phosphorus in the soil. Interplant in the vegetable garden to attract pollinators. Annual, height to 40cm, frost tender.

Sow in Spring or Late Summer for continuous colour in the garden. Direct scatter sow in borders and rows, or sow into trays and prick out to 4cm diagonal spacing when true leaves appear. Transplant out to 30cm diagonal spacing in fertile soil. This seed is hard to process and we include lots because some of the seeds will be immature. Sow thickly for best results.
